Geography is studied at all grade levels so this site should work for everyone:) It is a great tool to do a quick review. Teachers may assign it as a computer lab assignment where it is done individually. It could also be used in the class with the teacher projecting the link to the screen and teams of students compete against each other with what they think is the correct answer. A teacher might also use this as a preview of what is to be covered in the upcoming lesson to see what students already know or don't know. ELLs in mainstream classes might be made "experts" here as the teacher identifies their countries in the activity. Also, so EOs are not left out here, they might be able to share what they know of any states that they have lived in. Basically, this is a win-win for all!
A supplement to this is found at FREE RICE which I have blogged about in the past. Go to the subject list and select geography. One bonus feature here is the every correct answer earns 10 grains of rice to be distributed to poor countries. Students would have to register to do this though. It is also on our website at ELL TEACHER PROS.
I hope you enjoy using these sites with your students. I know that I had fun on them:)
